CZ Backup & Recovery Assistant is a private macOS backup and recovery utility. It is designed so the owner remains in control of protected files, encryption, storage destinations, and recovery.

Information processed

The application processes files and configuration selected for backup on the owner's Mac. This may include development projects, Git history, Codex application data, settings, and recovery metadata. Processing happens locally before upload.

Google Drive access

When the owner connects Google Drive, the application uses Google authorization to create and manage its encrypted backup repository in the owner's Drive. Access is used only for backup, verification, retention, and recovery operations requested or scheduled by the owner.

Encryption and credentials

Backup contents are encrypted on the Mac before transfer. The repository password and Google authorization credentials remain in protected local storage. They are not embedded in the public source repository or transmitted to the website.

Sharing and sale

CZ Backup & Recovery Assistant does not sell personal information, show advertising, create advertising profiles, or share backup contents with the application developer. Google processes data according to the owner's Google account and Google Drive terms.

Retention and deletion

Encrypted restore points remain in the owner's selected destination according to the retention settings. The owner can remove authorization through the Google Account security controls and can remove stored backups directly from the selected destination.
